For people who work with AI coding agents

Qeuli

Make the wait worth it.

Claude Code, Codex, a long build: you hit enter and wait. Qeuli notices the moment your agent starts, and gives that time back to you. Drink some water, rest your eyes, park the idea you just had. Everything runs on your machine.

Free and open source (MIT). Windows 10 and 11. About 24 MB.

A simulation on this page. In the app the suggestions come from your own settings, and nothing leaves your computer.

How it works

Your agent starts. Qeuli notices.

It hears the start

Hooks for Claude Code, a notify line for Codex, or qeuli run -- any command. It can also watch a process, like a training job or a build.

It fills the gap

A nudge that fits the wait: water, an eye rest, a parked idea, a stretch, something you saved to read.

It tells you when it's done

A desktop notification when the agent finishes, plus a plain-English recap of what it did while you were away.

What's inside

Eight colours, one calm app.

Health

Water, eyes, posture. Look after the human.

  • Water goal from your weight
  • 20-20-20 eye rest, stretch, breathe

Productivity

Capture ideas, plan the next prompt, review your waits.

  • Parking lot for ideas
  • Waiting report with weekly trend

Context

See what your agent is doing, and catch up the moment you are back.

  • Live feed of tool use
  • Recap of the last run

Music

Soundscapes that rise while your agent works and fade when it is done.

  • Rain, tide, lo-fi, focus
  • Made live, no downloads

Games

A few quick games sized for a short wait.

Fun

Small delights: jokes, riddles, luck.

Activity

Desk workouts and movement streaks.

Web

Your reading queue and the feeds you follow.

Also: your own story, with XP and chapters earned by healthy habits; two looks (Sticker and Calm); four font packs; 14 colour schemes, or match your Cursor / VS Code theme. Every feature is a folder, so you can add your own.

Privacy and setup

Yours, on your machine.

  • Nothing is hosted. No account, no telemetry, no server of ours.
  • Labels, not contents. It keeps tool names and short labels, never file contents, full paths, full commands or prompts.
  • One file of data. Written atomically, with a rolling backup.
  • Closed to websites. The background service listens on loopback only and rejects requests that do not come from the app or the CLI.
  1. Download and run the installer. Open Qeuli from the Start menu; it lives in the tray.
  2. Connect Claude Code (optional, one command):
    qeuli install claude
  3. Or wrap any command:
    qeuli run -- npm test

The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show "unknown publisher". Choose More info, then Run anyway. Each release lists a SHA-256 checksum so you can verify the file.
